The Real Narak Lies Within

The Real Narak Lies Within

Marcus Aurelius wrote, “There is no good for a human being except what creates justice, self-control, courage, and freedom — and nothing evil except what destroys these things.”

Viktor Frankl in Man’s Search for Meaning later echoed a truth just as profound, “It is not we who ask the meaning of life; it is life that asks us.”

Our actions are the answer.

And today, on Narak Chaturdashi this truth feels especially alive.
We light lamps to drive away darkness.

But the real Narak isn’t out there.
It’s inside in anger that burns, greed that blinds, and ego that enslaves.

Every diya we light outside should remind us to light one within to reclaim courage, justice, restraint, and freedom from the shadows of our own making.

The battle of good and evil isn’t mythology.
It unfolds quietly in every decision we make, every word we speak, every silence we justify.

As we celebrate Diwali, may we seek victory not over others but over ourselves.
Because when we conquer the inner Narak, the outer world no longer needs saving.

Light doesn’t just spread. It radiates. 🪔
