“Are we really solving our users’ problems?”

This one question during a routine design discussion was a paradigm shift in my thinking.

Embracing user-centric design has transformed my way of thinking, where the focus is not just on aesthetics but also on practical, user-driven solutions.

Sharing a few approaches that have worked for me.

1️⃣ User Narratives

  1. Gather diverse user groups for in-depth interviews. Don’t just create User Personas.
  2. Listen to their daily challenges, not just product feedback.

2️⃣ Simple yet Creative

  1. Identify the most frequently used feature in your app.
  2. Add a simple yet unexpected element to enhance user interaction, such as a subtle animation on completing a task.

3️⃣ Cross-Functional Insights

  1. Invite team members from various departments for a fresh perspective.
  2. Integrate their insights into the design process.

The journey from theory to action-oriented, user-centric design has been transformative. Ultimately, the real essence is to design with empathy and efficiency.
