The Illusion of Happiness

Vallabh Chitnis - IntuiWell - Illusion of Happiness

Ever chased something, believing it would make you happy, only to feel empty afterwards?

We often believe that having more money, status, or indulging in various pleasures will lead to happiness, but that’s usually not true.

Marcus Aurelius pointed out that those who give in to every desire aren’t necessarily happy. In fact, they can often feel trapped by addiction, greed, or an endless need to acquire more.

True happiness doesn’t come from getting everything we want but from understanding when it’s best to walk away.

The strength to say no can be far more powerful than the urge to chase after every desire.

So, the next time you feel the urge to buy something or indulge, take a moment to pause.

Ask yourself:

Will this really make me happy in the long run, or is it just a temporary fix?

Don’t hesitate to say no if it won’t contribute to your overall happiness.

Real power lies not in having more things but in finding contentment with less.
